Ed Tech Foundation helps Boys & Girls Club of Holland

Over the next few months the Ed Tech Foundation will be helping out the Boys and Girls Club of Holland as they renovate and build a new location for their club. We will be providing all the wiring and computers for their new facility.

In February Working Knowledge which volunteers their time and materials to the Ed Tech Foundation went to the new facility of the Boys & Girls Club of Holland. They spent two full days on site and wired their entire building. They did 50+ drops at this site. This will provide every computer with internet access and allow us to provide wireless access throughout the entire building. The kids will be able to use the computers we will provide or bring in their own devices to work on. Previously they had no wireless and 5 computers for the kids to work on. So far we have provided this site with over $5,000 worth of services and wiring materials.

Their new facility will have a computer lab with about 30 computers in it. This is up from the 5 computers they have now. It will also have a homework room, 7th & 8th lounge area, along with a few other rooms for activities and group meetings. We will be providing at least 35 computers for them. We will also be setting up wireless throughout the building. The delivery of the computers will take place over the summer once the construction is complete.

This is a great example on how the entire community is coming together to help this organization.

Volunteers Needed - We will be looking for a few volunteers to help install the PCs in August. If you can help please contact us at info@edtechday.org.

This is what the site will look like by the time it opens in September.
